Complex carbohydrates on the other hand such as whole wheat bread, brown rice or nuts provide long-term health benefits, act to control your appetite and sustain your energy levels.
Lots of refined junk foods are high in sugar to make it taste great. When you are eating at a restaurant it is hard to read labels – there aren’t any! So you have to be smart about your food choices. Substitute white bread or pasta for a whole wheat option instead. Be careful of commercialized beverages. If you think iced tea or orange soda are good alternatives to coke, you should know that the 2nd ingredients in those drinks are usually sugar. Drink water instead.
